BookAmor – Cookie Policy

BookAmor uses only essential, functional cookies required to provide access to the service. BookAmor does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party marketing cookies.

1. Types of Cookies We Use

A. Functional Authentication Cookie

This cookie is used only when a library chooses card-based authentication. It allows the patron to remain authorized on the same device without needing to re-enter a library card number every time.

  • Name: bookamor_auth_<library_id>
  • Purpose: Stores a random, opaque authentication token linked to an expiry date.
  • Contains: Only a random hexadecimal string. No card numbers, no IP addresses, and no personal identifiers.
  • Security: Secure flag, HttpOnly flag, SameSite=Lax.
  • Expires: According to the library’s chosen settings (typically 60–90 days).

This cookie is required for card-based access to function smoothly. If the cookie is deleted, the library card may need to be re-entered.

B. Session Cookies

BookAmor uses a standard PHP session cookie to maintain access during a browsing session. This cookie does not contain personal information and is deleted automatically when the browser is closed.

2. Cookies We Do Not Use

  • No analytics cookies
  • No advertising cookies
  • No third-party tracking cookies
  • No cross-site tracking technologies
  • No behavioral profiling

BookAmor does not embed third-party iframes that set cookies, and it does not include external analytics scripts such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.

3. How to Manage Cookies

Most web browsers allow users to delete cookies, block future cookies, or receive notifications before cookies are stored. If the authentication cookie is deleted, BookAmor may prompt for a library card number again (only in libraries that require card-based access).
