Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 26, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how BookAmor, published by Pronunciator LLC (“we,” “our,” “us”), collects, uses, and protects information. BookAmor is designed specifically for public libraries and prioritizes patron privacy above all else.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

BookAmor does not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Patron names
  • Email addresses
  • Library card numbers
  • Search history tied to a user
  • Reading, viewing, or listening history
  • IP addresses linked to a person
  • Device IDs or advertising identifiers
  • Cookies for tracking or profiling
  • Third-party analytics (e.g., Google Analytics)

BookAmor does not track patrons, does not create profiles, and does not use cross-site tracking technologies.

2. Information We Collect

BookAmor collects only anonymous, aggregate usage statistics to help libraries understand how the service is being used. This may include:

  • Total sessions per day
  • Number of recommendation requests
  • Clicks on the “Find in Library” link
  • Format type selected (Book, Movie, Audiobook, Music)

These statistics cannot identify individual patrons.

We may also collect minimal technical information such as browser type or general device category (desktop/mobile). This information is non-identifying and used only to maintain system performance and stability.

3. Optional Features

AI Reading Aide

If your library enables the optional AI Reading Aide feature, user prompts are processed only momentarily to generate a response. Prompts and responses are not stored, tied to a user, or used for training.

Library Branding and Configuration

If your library customizes BookAmor (e.g., logo, colors, catalog link template), these settings are stored at the library level only. No patron-specific information is ever stored.

4. How We Use Information

We use anonymous, aggregate information to:

  • Ensure system performance and uptime
  • Improve recommendations
  • Provide usage summaries to subscribing libraries
  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Maintain security

We do not use data for advertising, profiling, or commercial resale.

5. Data Sharing

Pronunciator LLC does not sell, rent, or trade any data. We may share anonymous, aggregated usage statistics with a subscribing library or library system. We never share information about individual patrons.

We may disclose minimal information if required by law. Because we do not store patron data, there is very little information that could be produced in such circumstances.

6. Data Security

We use standard industry security measures to protect our systems. Since BookAmor stores no personal data, no patron-specific information is at risk.

7. Children’s Privacy

BookAmor is safe for users of all ages. Because no personal information is collected or required, BookAmor complies with COPPA and similar privacy protections by design.

8. International Use

Libraries outside the United States may use BookAmor. We process all information in accordance with general privacy principles and applicable laws, while minimizing data collection as much as possible.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes occur, the “Last updated” date will be modified. Substantive changes will be communicated to subscribing libraries.
