These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of BookAmor (“BookAmor”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a library-focused discovery service provided by Pronunciator LLC. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Scope of Services

BookAmor is a discovery service that enables users to explore books, eBooks, audiobooks, video, music, magazines, and videogames, and to connect to external library catalogs or third-party services.

Access may be provided to individual users or through agreements with libraries, consortia, or other institutions. Where applicable, such agreements supplement these Terms.

2. Access and Authentication

The Services support multiple authentication methods commonly used by libraries, including library card authentication, IP-based access, and other institution-configured access methods.

Institutions are responsible for managing and distributing access credentials where applicable. Users agree not to misuse or attempt to bypass authentication systems.

3. Accessibility

We are committed to providing Services that are accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities.

BookAmor is designed with reference to applicable accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We make ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and usability across the platform.

Upon request, we can provide information regarding accessibility conformance and ongoing accessibility improvements.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with their intended use as a discovery tool.

You may not:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Services;
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where permitted by law;
  • Systematically copy, scrape, or reproduce the Services for commercial or competitive purposes without permission.

5. Third-Party Content and Catalogs

The Services provide links to third-party systems, including library catalogs and external content providers.

BookAmor does not control and is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of these third-party systems. Use of such systems is subject to their respective terms and policies.

6. Data and Privacy

Use of the Services is subject to our
Privacy Policy
and
GDPR Notice.

BookAmor is designed to minimize the collection of personal data. Where authentication is required, information such as library card numbers may be used solely to verify access and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Reporting and Administrative Access

For institutional customers, BookAmor may provide access to usage statistics and administrative tools. Availability and scope of such reporting may depend on the applicable service level or agreement.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that reporting data is accurate and available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to reporting tools.

8. Subscriptions and Institutional Agreements

Access to BookAmor may be provided under paid subscriptions or institutional agreements. Pricing, service levels, and renewal terms are defined in applicable contracts or order forms.

In the event of a conflict between these Terms and a signed agreement with an institution, the terms of the signed agreement shall govern.

9. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Services, including software, design, and underlying technology, are owned by or licensed to Pronunciator LLC.

No rights are granted except as expressly set forth in these Terms or applicable agreements.

10. Service Availability

We make reasonable efforts to maintain availability and performance of the Services. However, the Services are provided on an “as available” basis.

We may modify, update, or discontinue features as part of ongoing improvements, accessibility enhancements, or to meet legal or operational requirements.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that third-party links and content will be accurate or continuously available.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pronunciator LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Services.

Total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the Services in the preceding 12 months, or $50 USD where no fee has been paid.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services in the event of misuse, violation of these Terms, or legal requirements.

Institutional access is subject to the terms of applicable agreements.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless otherwise required by applicable law or agreement.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
