BookAmor gives public libraries a multilingual discovery experience for patrons across books, eBooks, audiobooks, movies, TV, music, magazines, newspapers, and video games.

Libraries can choose which supported interface languages appear in the patron-facing language menu, so the multilingual experience can reflect the languages most relevant to each community.

And multilingual support now goes beyond navigation. BookAmor can provide its librarian-style recommendation notes in the selected interface language. When patrons search from within that language, recommended titles can also be returned in that language, and PDF discussion guides created from that interface are generated in the same language.

BookAmor currently supports patron-facing discovery in:

Multilingual support includes the BookAmor patron interface, librarian-style recommendation notes, title suggestions generated from searches in that language, and PDF guides created from within that language interface. Libraries can choose which of the supported interface languages appear in the patron-facing language menu. Catalog records, holdings information, and availability remain controlled by the library’s own catalog.

Libraries do not have to show every supported language in the patron-facing drop-down menu. From the BookAmor admin panel, each library can select the interface languages it wants to make available to users.

Every community is different. A library serving a large Spanish-speaking population may want Spanish to appear prominently, while choosing not to include languages that are less relevant for its patrons.
